Don't Forget To Clean the Dryer Duct!

Often forgotten is the dryer duct cleaning. From the aluminum tube that is behind your dryer to the piping in your drywall. Safe House cleans it for all its Atlanta neighbors. Our dual cleaning is extremely effective. We use the rotary drill brush to break apart the lint inside of the dryer duct and allow air flow into the duct. We then go in with a HEPA filtered vacuum to remove the lint that the brush broke apart.

This improves the air flow in your duct making your cycles powerful and timely. It ensures the durability of your actual dryer, the machine can run with out over exerting itself making the durability double.

You also improve the odds of getting mold which is one of two things that can happen if your dryer duct isn't cleaned out properly. When heat reaches the lint in a compact dryer, it creates moisture. This is where mold and mildew thrive ! This is not anything that you cant rectify but it is best to avoid this situation and have your dryer vent regularly cleaned.

Another possibility is a fire! Lint is highly flammable and if enough heat reaches a compact duct it can catch fire very easily. A dryer vent fires is the leading cause for house fires in America.

Safe House Cleaning Process

The way we clean dryer vents is a duo cleaning process. We first clean the dryer duct with a rotary brush cleaning to break apart the lint inside of the dryer duct. We then after take a HEPA filtered vacuum cleaner and remove all of the lint that the brush broke apart.

We do the cleaning from both behind the dryer vent to the point it exhaust and from the exhaust back to the inside when necessary.

We say when necessary because most home owners should have a bird guard on the outside of their vents. This protects you from any animals that will try and find asylum in your dryer vent. 

Does Safe House remove animals? 

Yes ! In most cases there are always birds in the dryer that nest there especially in the winter. We do service these scenarios. What Safe House highly recommends after these services is to sanitize your vent. We don't know the bacteria these animals leave behind and its better to be safe than sorry. 

Is it possible to get mold in the dryer duct ? 

Yes! Anywhere there is moisture mold has a home. Once your dryer vent is clogged  and you are still running your machine the heat it gives off will lead to moisture because of the lack of air. This is why seeing your dryer vent leak water is not unusual.
